What to Expect from Premera Individual and Family Plans in 2025

June 13, 2024

Our 2025 individual and family plans and rates have been filed with the OIC and are now public. To see the full scope of the filing across all carriers, visit the OIC announcement. Here’s a preview of what you can expect for Premera next year.

Plans

All 7 Premera individual and family plans are renewing in 20205: Preferred Bronze, Preferred Bronze HSA, Preferred Silver, Preferred Gold, Cascade bronze, Cascade Silver, and Cascade Gold.

Counties

You can expect the same county footprint for our Preferred and Cascade plans. We’ll be in Franklin, Grays Harbor, King, Kitsap, Pacific, Pierce, Spokane, and Yakima counties.

Rates

We’ve filed for a 14.87% rate increase. This will help cover the rise in anticipated healthcare and claims costs while ensuring members have access to providers and benefits they need.

Rates are not final until approved by the OIC in early September.

Network

Your Premera Preferred and Cascade plan clients will continue to have access to providers in the Premera Individual Signature network. Our network is still one of the largest networks of any individual insurer in Washington state, and includes Kinwell, UW Medicine, Providence, Swedish, Virginia Mason, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and more. Additionally, the Premera Individual Signature network has many behavioral health, alternative care, and specialty providers.

Commission

We’ll continue the same 3-tier compensation structure in 2025. Only individual members count toward the tiers, as seen in the table below.

Tier 1 100+ Individual lives at the agency level Commission $20 pmpm
Tier 2 60-99 Individual lives at the agency level Commission $15 pmpm
Tier 3 <60 Individual lives at the agency level Commission $10 pmpm
