Simple, Non-invasive Testing Helps Members Stay on Top of Their Health and Wellness

Premera Blue Cross, in partnership with the vendor “Let’s Get Checked,” Eligible members in Alaska and Washington are receiving home test kits for colorectal cancer screening, HbA1c, and diabetic kidney monitoring. This annual program aims to simplify members’ access to these important screenings.
Here are more details about the home test kit program:
- Fully insured member eligibility is based on clinical gaps in care (using HEDIS eligibility).
- Test kits are mailed directly to members’ homes.
- Members receive up to two reminder phone calls and one reminder letter to complete their test kit.
- Members collect the sample and return them to the lab using self-addressed envelope.
- Results are sent to the member and their provider.
- There’s no cost to members who receive a kit through this program.
- Individuals aged 45-75 years should be screened for colorectal cancer regularly for early detection of abnormalities. See our Colorectal Cancer Screening Tip Sheet for more information.
