Medicare Supplement Spousal Discount Annual Review

Each year, Premera Blue Cross reviews member eligibility for the spousal discount. We recently completed our review and mailed notification letters to members who are no longer eligible.

If you have a client that you believe received a letter in error, please review the criteria below.

Eligibility criteria for the spousal discount must meet all the following:

• You’re enrolled in a standard Washington Individual Premera Medicare Supplement plan (effective 2010 and later).
• Your spouse is actively enrolled with Individual Premera Medicare Supplement plan (effective 2010 and later).
• You’re married or a registered domestic partner with the state and have the same address.

If they meet the criteria, have your client resubmit the spousal discount consent form.
