Medicare Supplement Plan Changes

Spousal discount 

We’re excited to announce that Premera Blue Cross Medicare Supplement plans in Washington will offer a spousal discount to those on eligible individual plans, starting on June 1, 2024.

  • The form to sign up for the discount will be available on the website, ms.premera.com, April 1.
  • New members can start signing up April 1, for the discount with a June 1 effective date.
  • Current Premera Medicare Supplement members who qualify, can apply for the discount April 1. Information about the discount was mailed to eligible members in their rate letter. The letter included information about how to sign up and listed eligibility requirements. You can find copies of rate letters on our producer website.
  • Processing applications can take 60 days to complete. Discounts will not be applied retroactively. If members sign up June 1, the discount may not apply until August 1.
  • Sales materials that include the discounts will be available on our website on April 1.
  • Sales kits that include the discount are now available to order. Visit our website and fill out our order form.

Who’s eligible?

  • Beneficiaries enrolled in a standard Premera Medicare Supplement plan (effective 2010 or later).
  • Beneficiaries who have the same address.
  • Beneficiaries who are married or have a state-registered domestic partner.

New fitness vendor FitOn Health

Eligible Premera Medicare Supplement members have a new fitness vendor beginning April 1, 2024. FitOn Health uses a credit system that gives members more options to use the fitness program. Members receive 30 credits at the beginning of each month that they can use for a gym membership, a studio class, or an in-home FitKit. There are more than 13,000 gyms and studios in the FitOn network. Premera recently notified Medicare Supplement members enrolled with Silver&Fit about the change.
