Kroger Returns to Premera Pharmacy Network

Last month, Kroger West returned to the Premera Blue Cross and Premera Blue Cross HMO pharmacy network. The change went into effect on April 15, 2025.

All commercial groups that have Express Scripts (ESI) as their pharmacy network will now have certain Kroger-branded pharmacies available as in-network. Kroger West includes pharmacies in Alaska, California, Washington, Oregon, and some pharmacies in other western states.

Fully insured, OptiFlex, and self-funded groups that have the ESI pharmacy network will be impacted by this change.

Kroger is still excluded from Walgreens Advantage Network (WAN).

Members can sign in to their premera.com account and use the Find Care tool to determine if their local Kroger pharmacy is in-network.
