Changes Coming to Premera Maternity Program

Premera Blue Cross is making changes to its digital maternal support program. Effective January 1, 2026 the BestBeginnings app will sunset. Premera offered BestBeginnings as a comprehensive maternity care initiative designed to support expecting parents through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and newborn care.

For fully insured and OptiFlex groups

We understand that maternal health support continues to be a need in the market. Fully insured and OptiFlex groups can access maternal health support through Enhanced Case Management. Enhanced Case Management is included with Personal Health Support.

Enhanced Case Management has a maternity program that includes pregnancy milestone tracking and educational content, like the BestBeginnings program. It also has more member touchpoints to catch and support high-risk pregnancies, and a bi-directional chat function with our case management team to better adapt to member communication preferences.

For self-funded groups

Self-funded groups that opt in to Personal Health Support can add Enhanced Case Management at per employee per month cost. Groups interested in offering women’s health at all stages of life can offer the Premera Health Hub. Premera Health Hub offers a variety of digital women’s health solutions beyond maternal care.
